These years of research, study and practice have allowed the SoulSpension tool and the Postural Suspension method to flow through me in a natural way.
Daughter of a cellist and an adventurous father whom she lost when she was only six months old, Patrizia travelled a lot since early childhood. This is how her passion for travel, cultural research and art was born. After acting school in Rome, in 1976, at only 20 years old, she moved to the United States, and lived subsequently in New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Key West Florida.
In a chaotic and fast-paced New York, I worked in fashion and attended Actor Studios. But in NY at that time everything was just "DOING!" At just 23 years old I experienced burnout. Days were made up of only work, study, bills, worldly life of appearance and often of little substance.
Eventually I decided to make a move to Hawaii where I encountered the Kahuna teachers, and started learning and practising their wisdom first-hand. I was able to experience on myself the remarkable methods of the ancient traditions of Hawaiian healers, the teachings of LomiLomiNui the ancient Hawaiian massage, as well as the wonderful philosophy of life of the Kahuna, the OponoPono.
At the beginning, coming from the Big Apple (as New York was called back in those years), I was able to experience on myself the wonderful methods of the ancient tradition of Hawaiian healers.
Gradually, following the lessons and receiving the treatments, my body began to perceive all the sensations again. The extraordinary, magical and overbearing nature of the islands did the rest by embracing and healing me.
Travelling around the world has allowed me to encounter some of the most important persons of my life, those who have formed me and who continue to do so: Tibetan teachers and doctors, Polynesians, Hopi and Lakotas and many peoples of the nations of North and South America.
Upon my return to Europe, in the mid-80s, I continued my study and research for eleven years in a school of Gurdjieff, with Bioenergetics, Yoga, Transpersonal Psychology, Transactional Analysis and Transformative Mindfulness.
These years have allowed the initial concept of SoulSpension method to flow through me in a natural way, and ultimately resulted in what I present to you here.
The structure of the SoulSpension responds to your body's need to act directly on the back, also decompressing the diaphragm, as well as stretching and regenerating the muscles of the paravertebral bands. All of which you can accomplish independently by yourself in the comfort of your home.
In a world where intellectual knowledge is clouding connection to your own body and soul, a commitment to daily practice must be revitalized. We must regenerate when we are tired and relax when we are stressed, re-educate ourselves to feel through self-observation and self-find the centre.
My mission today, as the creator of SoulSpension, is to accompany people to discover a new and effective way to take care of themselves.
Today the world needs health professionals who are moving towards practical solutions that add value to our hectic lives.
Through certified training courses, I share the method with a variety of professional practicioners, so they can support more and more people. Our tool is now used by doctors, physiotherapists, osteopaths, holistic operators, psychologists, in their daily life with various types of clients and patients.
In our homes, in our family, it helps us to share moments of harmony and relaxation in a simple and effective way. For many years now, Soulspension has been the travel companion of our increasingly growing family. I am grateful to them all for sharing this passion.
The SoulSpension method for postural correction developed over years of research. It has taken its current shape organically, through study and practice which I would like to share with you.
